ActivityPro was developed by Ron Martyn, a recreation professional with over 40 years’ experience in the long-term care field. He knows first-hand the challenges recreation/activity coordinators face every day. With this in mind, Ron developed ActivityPro to fill a growing need for quality recreation tracking, documentation and resident assessment.

Ron Martyn developed ActivityPro 20 years ago based on the gap in the marketplace he noticed for quality recreation software. After studying to become a recreation professional and owning his own long term care home as an Administrator he was frustrated with the lack of available options for tracking and improving recreation programming for his residents. He wanted a way to demonstrate the quality of resident programming being provided, ensuring resident programs met them at their ability levels. He also wanted reporting back to inspectors and governing agencies to be easier.
Ron’s matrix of spreadsheets and papers was so overwhelming that he developed a CD ROM program to start capturing everything he needed to provide truly person centered care to his residents. His program was such an advancement for the industry word got around and soon homes across Ontario were buying his CD for recreation tracking in their homes.
ActivityPro gets better and better with every software release as the quality feedback and suggestions from our active clients continues to be implemented into the software.
